FiOC-40

40-point Sedona controller that runs the application on the device

A 40-point DIN-rail controller that runs its control application on the device with Sedona. It talks to field devices and supervisory systems over Modbus, BACnet and MQTT, and is programmed live with Coselium Workbench or Niagara N4.

I/O channels: 40

Overview

FiOC-40 brings the local I/O of an automation panel and its control logic into one housing. The application is built from point-based Sedona components and runs on the device, so field logic keeps working even when the supervisory link is down.

Programming

Applications are edited live over SOX with Coselium Workbench: components are added, wired and monitored while the device runs. In Niagara N4 projects the Coselium Niagara modules connect to the device directly or integrate it through a station driver.

Communication

Communication is defined by the kits added to the application. The controller has no fixed register table; addresses and objects are set up per project. Modbus TCP/RTU master and slave, BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP and MQTT (optional TLS) are supported. With an optional licence the device also routes between BACnet/IP and MS/TP networks.

Service

  • Local web interface in six languages: status, I/O settings, network, files and software update
  • Short-range commissioning from a mobile device over Bluetooth LE
  • Application manager with backup and restore
  • Open-circuit, short-circuit and out-of-range detection on sensor inputs

Highlights

  • 40 physical points: 16 DI (DI1–DI4 counters), 8 UI, 8 relay DO, 8 FIO
  • Sedona application on the device, live programming over SOX
  • Modbus TCP/RTU master and slave, BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, MQTT (TLS)
  • Optional BACnet/IP ↔ MS/TP router licence
  • Works with Coselium Workbench and Niagara N4 (cosel module)
  • Local web interface, BLE commissioning, hardware RTC

Typical applications

  • Starting and stopping air handling units, pumps, boilers and chillers in the right order
  • Energy monitoring, alarms and status tracking
  • Automation panels that need schedules and local logic
  • Control stations collecting field devices over Modbus, BACnet or MQTT
