The device software (firmware) is uploaded from the Software Update page of the web interface. The process is simple, but if it is not planned it can cause a short interruption on site.
Before the update
- A backup of the application should be taken.
- Only the update package supplied by the manufacturer should be used. The device checks that the file is valid software, but not which product or version it was made for.
- The update should be planned for a time when the plant can stop briefly.
During the update
The file is selected and uploaded; the upload can be cancelled while it runs. When the upload finishes the device restarts, and outputs and communication stop briefly.
After the update
- The new version can be checked on the System Summary page.
- Your settings and the files on the device are kept.
- The web interface’s own files are not updated together with the firmware.
- There is no automatic return to the previous version, which is why the backup taken beforehand matters.
