FiO-40

40-point Modbus / BACnet remote I/O, no programming required

A 40-point remote I/O module that connects to a supervisory system without programming, using a fixed Modbus register map and BACnet object model. Depending on the licence level it also acts as a Modbus gateway or BACnet router.

I/O channels: 40

Overview

FiO-40 is built for adding field points to an existing BMS or controller. Channel structure and addresses are fixed: the integrator takes the register and object list from the reference appendix and maps it straight into the supervisory system.

Protocols

One field protocol runs at a time: Modbus RTU/TCP slave or BACnet/IP / BACnet MS/TP. On Modbus, function codes FC01, FC03, FC05, FC06, FC15 and FC16 are supported; analogue values are fixed-point and UI values can also be read as float32.

Licence levels

  • Base: Modbus RTU/TCP and BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP
  • Level 1: Modbus TCP ↔ RTU gateway
  • Level 2: Modbus gateway and BACnet/IP ↔ MS/TP router

Fail-safe behaviour

When communication is lost, outputs fall back to default values defined per channel. Settings are made from the local web interface or from a mobile device over Bluetooth LE; software updates are installed over the air.

Highlights

  • 40 physical points: 16 DI (DI1–DI4 counters), 8 UI, 8 relay DO, 8 FIO
  • Modbus RTU/TCP slave or BACnet/IP / BACnet MS/TP
  • Level 1 licence: Modbus TCP ↔ RTU gateway
  • Level 2 licence: Modbus gateway + BACnet/IP ↔ MS/TP router
  • Fixed register map and BACnet object model
  • Per-channel output defaults on communication loss

Typical applications

  • I/O expansion in AHU, pump, boiler and chiller panels
  • Adding dry contacts, analogue sensors and universal points to an existing BMS
  • Driving damper and valve actuators, relays and contactors
  • Fast retrofit integration through a fixed Modbus/BACnet map
