A universal input (UI) can read different kinds of sensor on the same terminal. You choose which sensor is connected from the web interface or the phone app, and the device measures accordingly.
Sensors you can connect
- Temperature sensors: common NTC types, PT1000 and NI1000
- Sensors with 0–10 V or 2–10 V output (humidity, CO₂, pressure and so on)
- 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA transmitters (pressure, level, flow and so on)
- Dry contacts (to use the input as a digital input)
Temperature sensor
Wired with two wires, no polarity. On long cable runs the reading can rise slightly; a sufficient cable cross-section is recommended, and the small difference can also be corrected in the settings. If the sensor cable breaks or shorts, the device detects it and reports a fault.
4–20 mA transmitter
The device does not power the transmitter; an external 24 V DC supply is needed. The advantage of 4–20 mA is that a broken cable is noticed right away. The wiring order is shown in the drawing below.
0–10 V sensor
The sensor is powered from an external 24 V supply; its output goes to the UI input and its 0V lead to the common terminal. The sensor’s range is then entered in the settings (for example 0–100 % for humidity), and the device shows the value directly in that unit.
