NewsFiOC-32 coming soon: Sedona controller with local display and dual Ethernet

What do outputs do when power returns or the network drops?

Which state a pump or valve is left in when power comes back or the BMS link drops should be known at design time. A summary of how Coselium devices behave.

When power comes back

When the device starts, the outputs wait in a safe initial state until the application gives the first command: relays released, analogue outputs at their lowest level. If you chose reverse logic for a relay, that relay starts energised. Field equipment should be chosen so that it is also safe in this initial state.

Channel settings (what is connected to which input, measuring ranges) are stored permanently on the device and survive a power cut.

If the BMS link drops

FiOC-40 runs its own program inside the device; even if the BMS link drops, the panel keeps running on its own logic.

FiO-40 takes its commands from the supervisory system. That is why you can set a communication loss time on FiO-40: if nothing arrives within that time, the outputs go to safe values you set in advance for each channel. When the link returns, the last commands are applied again. This feature is off by default; we recommend enabling it in projects.
