Adding points to an existing BMS without programming: FiO-40

You do not need a new controller to add a few sensors or outputs to a building. FiO-40 adds 40 points to the existing BMS without writing a program.

A common retrofit situation: the BMS is running, but a new pump’s fault contact, a few temperature sensors or a damper command need to be added. FiO-40 was designed for exactly this.

Why it is easy

  • Nothing is programmed on FiO-40. The address at which each channel appears in the BMS is fixed and listed in its documentation; the integrator defines that list straight into the BMS.
  • It connects over Modbus (Ethernet or RS-485) or BACnet (IP or MS/TP); you choose which from the web interface.
  • Channel settings are made from the web interface or the phone app.

What you can add

  • 16 digital inputs: fault and run contacts, meter pulses
  • 8 universal inputs: temperature, humidity, pressure and similar sensors
  • 8 relay outputs: pumps, fans, contactors
  • 8 flexible outputs: proportional control of valve and damper actuators

Safety

If the BMS link drops, FiO-40 outputs can go to safe values you set for each channel. We explain this in “What do outputs do when power returns or the network drops?”.

Detailed technical values are given in the product datasheet; our dealers can assist you with your project.
